The Atlas

A reference for the fountain-pen world: the inks, the pens, the nibs, the shops, and the shows — each recorded once, with where the fact came from and when it was last checked.

It exists because nobody kept one. Inks are renumbered, reformulated and discontinued without a record; shop directories list doors that closed years ago; a maker's own colour is guessed from a photograph on someone else's screen. The Atlas records what is known, says plainly what is not ("not published by the maker" is an answer), and asks the people who know best — the makers and the shops — to keep their own entries true.

What it refuses: it does not rank, recommend, or sell. It lists every stockist of a thing or none. It shows no prices. It keeps no accounts and asks nothing of a reader. Where a link earns a small commission, the page says so.
